Five Star Events was created in 1995 to provide special event planning and management services to businesses, not-for-profit organizations, associations and individuals. Five Star Events prides itself on offering outstanding management and planning services to create quality events for its clients. We named our company "Five Star Events" after the high class rating given to designate top quality resorts.

We believe we can make every event a success. We define a successful event as one that runs perfectly and pleases the client. Five Star Events believes no detail is too small to ignore: reputable vendors are essential, communication with the client is constant, an event's visual appeal is impressive, and plans for "worst case scenarios" are in place on the day of the event.

About the Owner:
Owner Tracy Higginbotham has been planning and managing events professionally for seventeen years, and planning events personally in a volunteer status for over twenty five years. After graduating from State University of New York College at Oswego with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Tracy joined the college's alumni office. Two and a half years later she moved on to Le Moyne College's alumni office as the Assistant Alumni Director and became responsible for organizing and managing 30 alumni events annually across the U.S.A. Other responsibilities included coordinating Reunion Weekend and Parent/Family Weekends planning golf tournaments, class parties, and awards dinners. Tracy worked closely with the College's Communications Department in developing themes and writing copy for all alumni event publications. The sixty-member board of directors looked to her for the planning and management of special college events and programs.

Tracy is also community-service minded. She devotes her spare time to helping women business owners as President of the Womens' Business Owners Connection, a networking and support organization for women entrepreneurs. She has been involved with WBOC since 1995 and has been its leader since 1997. She also donates her time speaking to entrepreneurial classes at local colleges. Tracy is also a member of the SUNY Oswego Alumni Board of Directors where she held the title of Community Service Chairperson for numerous years. She is also involved in a number of local community events in the greater Syracuse area.
